Sansevieria (commonly known as snake plants) are arguably the easiest of all houseplants to care for, as they truly thrive on neglect.  Robusta features wide leaves in a muted shade of green, with stripe-like markings of dark green throughout.  This classic snake plant is the perfect addition for any space in need of a  pop of greenery.

Care

General Maintenance: Snake plants will very rarely need to be repotted once they are established, as they have a small root system compared to most other house plants.  They can be propagated through clippings, or by separating and replanting the pups.

Temperature: Thrives in normal household temperatures, between 15º-26º Celsius.   Keep away from drafts and drastic temperature changes.  They prefer drier conditions, so there is no need for misting or providing additional humidity.

Light: Snake plants are notorious for their ability to tolerate low light conditions, however they will grow quickest in bright indirect light.

Watering: Water evenly once every 4-6 weeks.  The most common cause of issues in relation to snake plants, is caused by overwatering, so you are far better off to lean towards less water, rather than too much.  If the leaves become very soft or begin to curl inwards, that is a sign that your plant wants a drink.  

Soil: A 2:1 ratio of regular potting mix, and a course medium such as orchid mix, or bark is ideal to ensure the soil drains and dries quick enough.  Ensure that your pot has adequate drainage to avoid any potential root rot issues.

Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced (20-20-20) liquid fertilizer once a month during spring and summer.
