One of the sweetest varieties. Long, green stalks with pink speckling ripen to thick bright red stalks in late spring-early summer. Superior vigor and taste when compared to red varieties. Excellent for baking, preserves, canning, freezing, sauces, wine, and fresh eating. Does well in many soil types, but thrives in rich, well-drained loamy soils. Foliage is toxic.
