The Ming Gold Aralia is a beautiful evergreen shrub with fluffy, bright green and gold variegated foliage. The leaves are very delicate, and droop from graceful narrow branches that grow straight up.

Care

General Maintenance: Repot annually when the roots start to show above the soil line. Repot only one size up as aralia like to be a bit “snug”.

Temperature: Maintain between 18°C – 29°C. Anything below 16°C will cause it to drop leaves.

Light: Likes bright, indirect light and can handle light shade. Morning sun is fine for this plant, but it should not be kept in the direct afternoon sun as strong sunlight can scorch the foliage. They do very well in north-facing windows.

Watering: Keep the soil moist, but not soggy. Let the soil almost completely dry out, and then water thoroughly. Use a pebble tray or mist to increase humidity.

Fertilizer: Use a liquid fertilizer early sprign to fall. Do not fertilize in the winter.

Soil: Requires well-draining soil to prevent root rot.
