Care

General Maintenance:? These plants are beautiful tropical additions to any home, and are very easy to care for. Repot once every 2-3 years as they enjoy being slightly root-bound. Propagation by division is the easiest way, but can also be propagated via leaf cuttings

Temperature: Agaves love it hot, their ideal temperatures range between 25 – 35 degrees Celsius. Do not expose to frost or freezing conditions. Do not allow these plants to go below 13 degrees Celsius at any point if possible

Light: These plants enjoy the sun and the heat, to allow these plants to thrive, keep outdoors in the summer months to enjoy the direct full sunlight. Keeping in a South facing windowsill is also an excellent place for them to grow.

Watering: Water these plants very sparingly, when approximately 50% of the soil is dry. Water thoroughly until it drains from the bottom of the pot

Soil: A well-draining, sandy soil is idea for these plants. They are very prone to root rot, and enjoy a soil that doesn’t get completely compacted

Fertilizer: Agave plants are hardy and rarely need fertilizer. However they will enjoy a well-balanced fertilizer once every 2-3 months during the growing season (April – August)
