Care
General Maintenance: Annual spring pruning will enhance the plant’s health and repot every 2-3 years.
Temperature: The shrubs will need to be brought indoors in colder climates, as they do not survive temperatures below zero degrees Celsius.
Light: This plant will fare best when given lots of light, so a location with plenty of sun is required.
Watering: Keep soil evenly moist, watering only the root, as wet foliage will result in fungal diseases.
Soil: This plant will want a well draining soil, that has a moderate to slightly acidic PH, which is crucial to growing an Ixora bush. Plant it in a soil mixture that is rich in organic matter and peat based.
Fertilizer: At planting, mix in 1/3 organic matter such as compost, well-rotted manure, or peat moss. Organic matter will help lower soil pH.
